Anthracite Coal

Black Coal

Anthracite, also known as hard coal and black coal, is a hard, compact variety of coal that has a submetallic lustre. It has the highest carbon content, the fewest impurities, and the highest energy density of all types of coal and is the highest ranking of coals.

Anthracite is the most metamorphosed type of coal (but still represents low-grade metamorphism). Anthracite ignites with difficulty and burns with a short, blue, and smokeless flame. Its use in the metallurgical sector is of high importance as it contributes to coke-making and the energy increase in the blast furnace and acts as the reducing agent in the formation of molten iron. Customers will need to specify the technical information of the Anthracite coal of their interest.
